Some 700 workers represented by union NAACIE went on strike this morning. The workers went on strike for wages increase and other salary allowances for 2010.
It is not clear what effect the strike will have on the operations of the company and how many days it will last.
GPL says that the workers did not follow procedural action as is necessary when taking industrial action and the company has taken steps to limit disruption of GPL's services.
