The owner of the home Malika London was not at home at the time but her four year old son was. However he was rescued by a neighbor while former reporter Mondale Smith grabbed London and prevented her from running into the building. She believed four year old Samuel Chapman was inside the home but was reunited shortly after the fire was doused.
