POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE BARTICA KILLINGS

Police have made no arrest in the slaying of two gold miners in a house at Bartica, Region Seven, on Sunday, and several close associates of one of the gold dealers believe that the double murder might have been part of a revenge plot.

Police said they have not unearthed any possible motive for the killings, and are working on leads provided by residents and other sources during their ongoing investigations. One source told this newspaper that a few months ago Ramdeo Deonarine, one of the dead miners, had found out that the persons he was buying gold from in the interior were “ ripping him off,” and he invited them to breakfast one morning. Shortly after eating, Deonarine called in the police and the men were picked up and later charged and placed on bail.

Dharshanie, a daughter of Jainarine Ragoobar, the other miner who was killed, corroborated this story, but insisted that the matter was petty, and dispelled the notion that the murders and this incident might be connected.

So the million dollar question is who killed the miners?, why? and where is the $100 Million in raw gold and cash gone?
